THE PROCESS: Our cabinet refinishing system is very unique and designed to give a factory quality finish while protecting the homes or building’s interior. The existing cabinet finish is evaluated to determine its chemical make-up and which products and system will work best to insure proper bonding of new finishes. All doors and drawer fronts are removed for refinishing in our shops controlled environment. Doors and drawers are degreased, detail sanded and thoroughly cleaned in a multi-step process to also insure proper bonding of the new finish. Special bonding agents and primers are applied in a clean air spray booth using specialty paint sprayers that insure a smooth even finish. Our typical finish consists of one bonding coat and two finish coats. Additional coats, sealers and fillers are available upon request. Job site finishing of the cabinets starts with plastic wall curtains to isolate the work area from the rest of the home. Areas adjacent to the cabinets will be taped-off and protected from any paint overspray. Cabinets are prepared for finishing in the same manner as the doors and drawers. Air filtering fans are used in the work area to minimize dust particles in the finish and to minimize paint overspray from circulating outside of the work space. Once the finish is dry, doors, drawers and hardware will be reinstalled and adjusted. Touch up paint will be provided to the owner, just in case. It is important to note that minor blemishes will be filled during the process, but it does not repair delamination of veneers, warped doors or gaps between wood joint. Although, we do offer options to repair these types of issues.
